New space at FOUND ON FREMONT

Today I started my own little space at a great little store Called FOUND ON FREMONT.  It is located in NE Portland, at 4743 NE Fremont St.  I moved in some of the larger pieces I have been working on and started filling it in with accessory items I have been collecting.  It didn't take much until I was out of things to add, must hunt for more:-)  The fun part was arranging and displaying it all.  I hope people like it as much as I do and buy a few things. Well if you get the chance check out this store, there are a lot of nice vendors, but I think my space looks the best!  Have a great weekend, J.

Potting/garden bench #2

Hope your week went well.  I found this old dresser (you should check out the before & after shots below) at a garage sale last saturday.  I decided to turn it into another potting bench.  I wanted it to have more of a garden feel to it, so I came up and designed the picket fence for the back part of it.  I added 6 hooks to hang things and topped it off with 2 cute birdhouses.  I removed the 2 bottom drawers to have open space below.  I went with a white & dark grey paint color combo.  Now I just have to find a good home for it.  If you know of anyone needing a great piece like this, have them contact me at jaryr.comcast.net,  Thanks, J!!!

Busy week creating

Where does the time fly, when one is busy creating?  Here are a few more pieces that were fun to do this week.  The top dresser, was a dark brown piece I found in Battleground WA.  It was in need of some lighting up.  The chair a local thrift store find, badly abused, became a wonderful shabby chic chair with new paint and fabric.  Other items are featured below.  Hope you are having a wonderful weekend.  Happy huntings, Jary.

Lovely garden/potting bench

I just finished putting the last touches on this new piece.  It was an old brown 4 drawer dresser,  I picked up.   I decided to attempt my skills(? learning more everyday) and create a garden/potting bench.  I had been inspired by others in magazines and thought give it a try.  I choose the colors blue and green, because they are fresh and spring like and pulled out the colors that were in the tiles I wanted to cover the top with. I removed the 2 bottom drawers beacause they were kind of wanky and I wanted some open space in it.  I choose chicken wire to be the material for the back because it was quirky and you can hang tools on it.

This was a fun project, a little more time consuming, but the results were well worth it.  I just have to start taking my before photos so you can really see the transformation.

Pewter & gold animal print chairs

Hello, I just completed 2 lovely FUN chairs.  I repainted each and gave them a rich pantina finish.  The cushions are recovered in rich toned animal print/fur material.  These would be a welcome addition to any room, be it formal, neo-traditional or modern & funky.  Have fun mixing up styles in you home.  Need any great suggestions on your home, shop or office, feel free to let me know.  I'm always available to help.
